For the safety and protection of both players and coaches, there are several guidelines in place for 2020 junior lessons. Players and participants are expected to review and abide by the procedures and protocols set forth by the Club.

Parents, please ensure you read the following guidelines and protocols outlined in each one of the pages under the "junior lessons" drop-down from the website menu or by clicking the buttons below. Before registering, ensure you are comfortable with all requirements and confident that your participating children will be able to abide by guidelines before registering them in junior lessons.

Junior lesson fees are non-refundable once payment is made.

The Kildonan Tennis Club Junior Tennis Team Lesson Program, run by Head Coach Peter Otto, is offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays in three separate time blocks offered throughout the summer for kids aged 5-17.

This works out to a total of 9 available registations (three time-blocks with three days available per week). Both members and non-members may participate in the program. Non-members would pay an additional $54.00 in fees if they sign up for all 9 registrations ($6 non-member fee per registration).  A KTC Junior Membership is $60.00 for the 2020 season.

IMPORTANT FEE INFORMATION  (Please scroll down to register into programs):

  • For each Junior, all registrations after the first are offered at a $20.00 discount off the posted price.  For example, if you sign your KTC member child up for Tuesday and Thursday in Block 1 and Tuesday in Block 3, you would pay $260.00 total - $100.00 for the first day, and $80 ($100 - $20 discount) for the days thereafter.  The non-member fee total for the same registration would be $278.00 ($260+ 3x$6.00 non-member fee).

  • You can sign up for all Block/Days now or come back later.  Your spot in the session is confirmed when you pay for the registration.

  • There are no refunds once the registration is paid.

Teaching Methods

We use Tennis Canada Teaching Methods.  Co-operation and partner drills along with game situation training will keep participants active and eager to improve their play.  Participants will learn and develop fundamentals for singles and doubles play.  A fitness component will also be part of each practice.  This may include footwork drills, hand and foot coordination skills, warm up and cool down exercises, and team relays.  We will also use Progressive Tennis materials and equipment when appropriate to foster the learning of tennis and all of its components.

Participants will be divided by age and/or skill level.
